Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer sought by leading project developer pioneering the delivery of fast response assets in the UK. The successful Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for delivering the engineering for a fleet of utility scale gas peaking and energy storage projects.

The ideal Mechanical Engineer will be comfortable with design co-ordination both within office-based and site-based teams, and have a keen eye for detail,

Mechanical Design Engineer key responsibilities;

  • Design co-ordination
  • Ability to identify design issues, and resolve
  • Lead design co-ordination meetings
  • Manage contractors’ due dates, delivering correctly and on time
  • Manager all drawings and calculations required
  • Regular site visits to review design developments
  • Support the Head of Engineering in the development of future battery and gas peaking plants

Additional experience that would be very beneficial;

  • 4+ years supporting projects, within Renewables or an Energy Generation Environment
  • Knowledge of gas peaking plant construction
  • Understanding of mechanical plant design and construction
  • AutoCAD 2D / 3D CAD Design
  • Python

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be working within a dynamic team constructing cutting edge generation plants, with extremely relevant real-world project experience. You can expect to work on the delivery of gas peaking and battery projects, including the delivery of a 750MW integrated gas peaking / battery plant, allowing the opportunity to deliver some of the latest generation peaking plant and largest battery energy storage assets worldwide.
