Job Description

Data Scientist sought by leading project developer pioneering the delivery of fast response assets in the UK. The successful Data Scientist will support both trading and asset management functions for a market leader in gas peaking and battery storage assets.

The ideal Data Scientist will have experience in quantitative analysis and a keen interest in the energy sector.

Data Scientist key responsibilities;

Support both trading and asset management functions through;

  • Monitoring performance
  • Maintaining analytics and reporting
  • Data acquisition and cleaning
  • Running analysis and simulations
  • Assisting in development of algorithms and machine learning 

Key Requirements;

  • 3-8 years’ experience within a data analyst / scientist role
  • Interest in data, AI and machine learning
  • Experience in quantitative analysis (stochastic calculus, PDEs, Monte Carlo methods, and numerical methods) would be advantageous
  • Prior experience within the Energy sector, (or a clear interest in energy)
  • Python proficiency
  • Familiarity with an SQL-based language
  • Familiarity with Time Series databases

Additional experience that would be very beneficial;

  • Database administration
  • Java / Javascript
